1).In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
We have developed an opening of a film that does not give the audience any signs as pose to what is going to happen later on in the film. It creates a sense of suspense and suspiciousness of the character as during the film you hardly even see her face.
We have developed this idea into our film of not giving any clues as posed to what the movie will be about of sign posting any future events to make the character mysterious and unknown.
We used similar ideas and shots from Dexter who is portrayed to be mysterious and unknown during the breakfast morning routine opening as this creates a cliff-hanger as to speak for the audience making them question themselves about the character.
We used a wide range of Close ups and Jump cuts in our film which is also used quit frequently during the opening of the Dexter morning routine.
This allowed us to make the main focus on the Breakfast parts of the clips and particular objects and at some points the extreme close ups give the object a different view and make them appear to be something that it is not.
.
The use of close ups on the breakfast stress the importance of the event and the actual cooking of the breakfast, this could later have a signifcant relation to the rest of the film.
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Our Media project mainly represents working class families .The young woman featured in our opening is making a typical English breakfast this portrays typical British practices and norms and values within its society. This film would appeal to all sorts of people from a variety of social group’s different genders and ages. The soundtrack that we have used in our opening gives a sort of everyday feels i.e. Cooking Breakfast and anticipating what lies ahead during your day. The soundtracks add emotion of what the character is feeling at that point.
The character seen in the opening is wearing a checked shirt and this creates and image of an independent working woman/mother.Her clothing (shirt) predominantly associates withbusiness and work.It Add Sopistication and class as show in th the image below
4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
The Film we have developed would be aiming to target working class/middle class people as it does not target to those who assosciate with upperclass morals and values. Although it is a British Centered Drama based on working class/middle class families, it could also apply to single parent families or young adults living by themselves.
We believe people of all ages ranging from teenagers to elderly .We Did not use a particular story line in our film and so does not solely apply to any particular audience.
5. What kind of media institution would distribute your media product and why?
Working title films would probably be the appropriate institution to distribute our media products and film. Due to it having typical British qualities, however working title films have low budgets and so therefore distribution tactics are not as successful as say for example Paramount etc.So, looking further into distribution companies we have decided that our genre of film which is a drama to use Paramount Pictures as our main distributers out and running into the cinemaHave a look on imdb and find out the companies that have produced and distributed films similar to yours. Research some low budget, independent British film companies that might be interested in distributing your film.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Looking back at the preliminary task, what do you think you have learnt from the progression from it to the full task?
So many things I think we have learnt and taken up on board. The preliminary was a very short capture of film and we didnt really think about our story line or what we said , we were just focusing on the accuracy of our angles and shots to make it as smooth to watch as possible. But on our main task, we were having so much difficluty in mostly everything, our story line we was thinking about too much which resulted in distracting us from focusing the main points such as : lighting, jump cuts, using the same side all the time when filming, and most of all,
