This is our Preliminary Task....Finally

For Our Preliminary task we were asked to film a sequence starting with a person entering a room and having a conversation with someone else and then leaving the room.This was practice befor we start on our main task,and allowing us to get used to using the rqipment and failiarise ourselves with it. Our Group had to think about variouse angles and shots,lighing,location and sound that were present and used to ensure that what we generate in the end is good quality filming.

Main Tasks

We have decided on the starting shot being the ending so we start backwards. It will start With these two friends having an explosive argument over something and then one of the friends walk out the door screaming and shouting without looking where she`s goin because she is too angry and upset.When suddenly she turns around and all you hear is a Screeching of a car and a car horn .SMASH!basically ther ending of the film willl be put as the beginning And the rest of the clip will show flashbacks and memories of the previous events that led up to the argument.
We will be using various shots and trasitions to sequence out Opening.

What did you learn about the cameras and editing software during the preliminary task?

During our prelimainary task we learned how to use variouse skills such as jump cuts and this can be done by pressing pause ont he camera whilst filming and then pressing record again in which creates a jump cut/shot.
T he Camera and editing wasnt as what we expected it was a good experiance, however we need to learn more about editing as we havent started to post our preliminary task on our blog.

In the filming and editing of your project, what worked well and what could have been improved?

In our Filming and Editing of our project , if had used better lighting and sound equipment such as a microphone, then the composure of our filming would have been better and in conclusion it finished product would have come out much better .
With the editing, getting our heads around how to use the programme took some time.
So editing took us longer than it should have. In the end we messed around with the programme to get an idea on how it worked in order for the finished piece to have continuity and flow .
When we all work together the work we do becomes clearer and easier to understand but when one or two people are absent and arent in to complete the group work it makes the quality of our work poor, so we need to improve on attendance and teamwork.

How did you make sure that you didn’t break the 180 degree rule? Or if you broke it, what have you learnt from this?
The 180 degree rule we havent broken yet , but if we did we would learn to make sure we stay on one side and not keep swapping angles and sides to cause confusion to the audience and to ourselves.

Improvements

At the moment, due to our group not all together, we havent been able to do more shots and to edit at the moment so therefore we dont have any shot/ reverse shot combinations, However today , our aim is to capture the last of our scene and to edit to post it onto our blog by the end of the 2nd lesson.

IDEAS For Our Movie Opening!!

Basically, our type of movie opening is a drama/com- this is our unique genre as we thought it would be interesting to mix and match the drama but blend in an essence of comedy to give it a realistic feel to it.

there are many ideas that we have all come up with: The first one is:
A male playing 3 diffrent girls at the same time that are all close friends but they kep their business to themselves and thats hwo none realise they all are dating the same person and later on they find out..

2nd one:when a male and female are arguing leads up to one walking out and getting run over by a car.

Capturing

Today we were trying to capture more frames in order to edit our short film (priliminary) due to 2 members of our group absent me and Vanessa recorded a jump shot and a LS of walking down the corridor.

Editing-Final Cut Pro

Today, we are trying to edit our preliminary task using final cut pro.
WE have edited it to make the peice flow and to do this we had to cut bits out and sort of make it a puzze the so the final product will make sence.
